Site Q & A

Notice: If you feel that you have an unanswered question that is important, please e-mail me it.

Welcome to the Site Questions and Answers section of the site -- a written page that will hopefully answer common questions you may have about the site and/or forums.

Why did I create this very site??
I have always been intrigued by character creation in video games, and the idea of designing my very own. Soul Calibur III's Create-a-Soul was the real candy treat. I created my very first character and simply fell in love with the system, even though today it seems pretty sub-par. Over time I began creating more and more characters and eventually I wanted to compile all these formulas where I can easily access them. Thus, the website started. First, with only just my own creations, and now a whole lot of other peeps as well.

How do I submit my characters to the site??
At the moment, every submitter is required to register at the forums and post their formulas in the Submissions Forum. Additionally, to actually have your character(s) included on the website, you must show commitment by being active and posting on the forums. This rule was created due to the majority of submitters submitting a bucket-load of their creations and simply leaving w/o ever coming back. It takes a great deal of work and effort to assemble nice screenshots for your characters, fix up their individual pages and place them up here for visitor viewing.

You'll need 100 Forums Points for your first guaranteed character to the site. You can have a lot more depending on how further you develop your points.

You can read more about how to submit characters by visiting this forums thread.

What about people who submitted before this sytem was in effect? Do they just get ignored?
The free-for-all submissions that the site used to ride on doesn't work with the new forums point system. Thus, ALL previous submitters who submitted their characters through forms, e-mail and by any other means will be required to re-submit them in the forums. They were only seemed to be ignored in the past because there was just literally so many submissions to go through.

Ok I submitted, but when will my chars be up??
Site character updates are at the moment entirely random. An update usually occurs several times a month, although may be more or less. At the momentI'm working on recruiting more volunteers to help with character updates so that they may be carried out much swifter. If you happen to be unsure, I usually post upcoming site updates ahead of time in the News, Notices and Rules section of the forums.

Can I get screenshots for my CaS, and nothing else?
Sure, screenshots can be done at no charge and hardly no effort on your part. Simply register yourself once at the forums and post your desired character formula(s) in this screenshot requests thread. If I or any other screenshotters are still doing screenshot requests, expect them to be carried out regularly.

How do I request a cameo for the site??
You'll need to post your requests in the CaS Requests section of the forums. I stated that I scrapped doing user requests, however I am starting to look over them once again. The reason why I want you to post in the forums instead of just filling out a site form or e-mailing me is the additional opportunity you'll receive by getting your requests done by someone else if I am not able to.

My requests aren't being done!!
If CaS just does not provide the correct parts for the certain requested character, it will not likely be made. Also, I (or other creators) may be busy working on other requests, so please allow some time before we are able to get to yours. Requested cameos that have been done generally are not added to the site, so you'll need to check the forums for the status of your request where you had posted them.

Your so-and-so cameo looks crappy / lame
Realize that not all cameos will look dead-accurate or even remotely accurate. It all really depends on what the character's dress/attributes are and what Soul Calibur III's Create-a-Soul has to offer. I can pretty much say, however, that I always try my utter best when creating cameos - resembling colors and outfits as closely as I can, see?

Why do you have so many female characters??
Personally and generally speaking, females seems to be the much more enjoyable gender to create characters from. And whether or not you're taking the pervertedness in consideration, you have to agree that the female's attires are so much more well done than those of the males, which seem to lack almost anything good. That in mind, it seems only logical that the female count is higher than the males.

Are you gonna do any male originals anytime soon?
Well... from the failed thousand attempts to create a good looking male that pleases me, most likely not. However, you can be sure that I am always trying.

Why are there more CaS by you than others?
The website started out as my personal palace for hosting my own creations. Hence, much of what I had created has stayed within the site. And, since I DO own the site and work off a sweat for it, it seems only right that I should be able to host most of my characters on it. However, at the time being, I've been trying to develop the site into a more diverse CaS site. That is the main reason why I usually stray from adding my own characters on the last few updates, if you may have noticed.

Your site looks distorted or messed up
You're probably using Internet Explorer, or something other than Firefox, thats why.

You have a mistake on so-and-so
I make a lot of mistakes, however I will always try to my best to fix them. If you came upon something you believe is an error, I would love it if you report it to me. That way, I can get it properly fixed as soon as possible.

The time between each update is too long
If it's long, you'll just have to endure it. The usual reason for the long periods between updates may be personal issues or reasons (such as: college, work, illness, vacation and computer problems). At all other times, I'm always trying to get them up quick.

Can I link your site??
Sure. You can either use text link or a large banner link.

Can you link my site??
Unfortunately the links section is pretty full at the moment. I will not be creating a separate page for links since it will hinder and disconfigure the look and layout of the navigational panel. The max amount of links I am taking are 6 sites -- If you feel that your site is exceptional and should definitely be included here, feel free to send me an e-mail with the link. I will only take Soul Calibur III or CaS related sites, please.

Why advertise the forums so damn much??
The forums with its posting features and online community is simply a superior way to deal with submissions, requests, ideas, news and suggestions. It may even be the main site one day, who knows...

Can I use your CaS images/formulas here??
Formulas yes, as long as you ask permission from the author beforehand and credit them appropriately; Screenshots, no. They take quite a bit of time and effort to create and assemble, so I wouldn't be very happy if they are used elsewhere and I did all the work for someone else.

How do I unlock so-and-so armor/discipline/wep??
Unfortunately this site isn't a technical CaS guide, at least not yet. If you are not certain of how to unlock various equipment and items in the game, you might wanna stop by GameFAQs and look up on a couple FAQs. If you still do not find the answer, try posting your question in the forums and I'm sure someone can answer you there.

This site sucks, you suck, your mom sucks...
The real question is: why are you here then? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I work very hard to provide a place for visitors to appreciate the effectiveness and creativity of CaS. I guess if it bothers you that much then you probably need to go to another place. Oh, and let's not bring family members into the discussion, kay?

Can I send you hate/junk e-mail??
Do it. I dare ya.
